This is the 1/48
Academy F111C I built for the F111 Group Build which is in the markings of 1
Squadron RAAF the first Squadron to be commissioned in the Australian Flying
Corp (later the Royal Australian Air Force) on 1/1/1916. 1 Squadron saw
service during WW1 in Egypt. I thought that as it flew at this time (WW1)
when Australians and New Zealand troops were battling it out on the front
in Gallipoli on 25/4/15 this would be a suitable tribute to those lost.
This kit has a
heap of Verlinden and Scaledown aftermarket accessories and some scratch
building to make it look the way it does.

- The Ode of Remembrance
-
- They went with songs to the
battle, they were young.
- Straight of limb, true of
eyes, steady and aglow.
- They were staunch to the end
against odds uncounted,
- They fell with their faces to
the foe.
- They shall grow not old, as we
that are left grow old:
- Age shall not weary them, nor
the years condemn.
- At the going down of the sun
and in the morning,
- We will remember them.
Lest we forget
