  ANZAC Day 2009

This is the 1/48 Academy F111C I built for the F111 Group Build which is in the markings of 1 Squadron RAAF the first Squadron to be commissioned in the Australian Flying Corp (later the Royal Australian Air Force) on 1/1/1916.  1 Squadron saw service during WW1 in Egypt.  I thought that as it flew at this time (WW1) when Australians and New Zealand troops were battling it out on the front in Gallipoli on 25/4/15 this would be a suitable tribute to those lost.

This kit has a heap of Verlinden and Scaledown aftermarket accessories and some scratch building to make it look the way it does.

The Ode of Remembrance

They went with songs to the battle, they were young.
Straight of limb, true of eyes, steady and aglow.
They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted,
They fell with their faces to the foe.
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.

        Lest we forget
