This model is an Italeri 1/72 F5E Tiger II completely from the box.  It shows a standard VFC-13 adversary training USN bird with no radar installed.  The VFC-13 is stationed at NAS Fallon Nevada.  This bird wears a lizard desert scheme, the decals come from TwoBobs 72-003 sheet. http://twobobs.net/  The camouflage is sand FS30279, I used Humbrol 121 and zebra are brown in FS30117 Humbrol 186.  The decals are thin and very accurate with a lot of markings, it's a small plane in 1/72.  I cut the flaps to show them open.  The red star and red number 23 simulate a Russian fighter, and callsigns of the pilots are ALIEN and THUMPER just on the bottom of the canopy in each side.

The noise is satin black and wingtip launch rails are Grey Gunze H308 FS36375.  I decided to add on rails at right a Sidewinder AIM-9L exercise missile in blue and at left a scratchbuilt TACTS pod in orange.  I replaced the original parts for guns with thin tubes painted in gunmetal to be more accurate.  Now it seems more operational.

To help me I tried to find some pictures of the real plane via the web, I found very operational pictures and I saw that this BuNo plane wear also a red 05 number on noise during a period.  Every plane of this unit is interesting because they wear a lot of different scheme desert lizard, blue lizard, grey lizard, 3 colors desert, 3 colors blue, 3 colors grey, 3 colors Iranian style, splinter, full black...A pleasure for colorful planes enthusiast modeler like me.  Perhaps I will do a new one in a next future.
