Hello guys. This is my first submission on ARC and I'm starting with my favourite WWII fighter!

The "Big Beautiful Doll" is certainly one of the most famous Mustangs in the world. I decided to build this bird after I heard from the total loss of D-FBBD "Big Beautiful Doll" during this years "Flying Legends" Airshow at Duxford UK.

This is the Tamiya kit "8th AF Aces", which is known as the best P-51 in this scale. The kit includes the decals for this version. I build it mostly OOB except from a pair of seatbelts from Eduard and some wires and small additionals in the cockpit.

The fit was excellent and you need only little filler and sanding.
I decided to give it a polished finish, because this was the last finish of D-FBBD. It was the first time I used Alclad II polished aluminium and it worked very well!
