This is the largest
model that I have ever attempted and it is a vac-form. If that were not
enough I decided to scratch build the entire interior - the cockpit and the
cargo compartment, which explains why it took from July 2009 to February 2010 to
construct!!! I printed my own decals on an ink-jet printer and used
a mixture of Halfords acrylic auto spray paints and Humbrol enamels brush
applied.

I obtained the kit in 2008
from the USA on an eBay auction and had it delivered to my Uncle's place
in Denver as I was visiting on vacation. The fuselage was too long
to fit in my suitcase so I sawed each fuselage side into three sections -
adding to the challenges of construction. The wings separate from
the fuselage to aid storage as the finished model is 41 inches long and
has a wing span of just over 45 inches.
Coming some time in
2010 - a 1:48 C-124 Globemaster II, but not just now. The next model build
is going to be a tad smaller!!!
